On December 18, Alicia Keys was on hand at M2 Mansion in NYC for a release party for her stellar new album "The Element of Freedom." If you don't have it yet, you need to get off your computer and beat a path to Target/Walmart/Best Buy or pop a tab, click up an online shop and fill a shopping cart. Point is: forget the freebies, good music deserves better dollars (especially these days) and Alicia Keys cooked up something phenomenal for these cold winter months. On a completely non-musical angle I can tell you listening to the album I wasn't sure if Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz were still making their lo-pro relationship happen. Last night, Alicia Keys was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman. With two dancers/backup singers she performed her new single "Teenage Love Affair." We'll step past the dancing and singing. The blurbable part of the appearance was Alicia Keys telling a story about her solo trip to Peru on New Years Eve. It seems as though Alicia Keys escape to Egypt wasn't a one-off thing. She said she is going to take those kinds of vacations every year to give herself a break from celeb life. What I don't understand is Alicia went solo on New Years Eve, but she thinks of Kerry Brothers as someone she would marry?
