A while back I commented that MC Lyte looks like she's been sipping from the Fountain of Youth. She really doesn't look a day past 89'. Well, she's making songs in the same manner; this song "Beautiful" is from an upcoming album called Almost September. That's the name of a group she's part of with Jared Lee and Whitey White. more..

The Heineken Red Star Soul showcase kicked off in Los Angeles last night. The showcase is a series of invitation only concerts to celebrate emerging and established singers. At each concert Heineken presents the Independent Achiever Award to a local rising star. The concerts actually begin on Sept. 12th in Philadelphia and run thru Nov. 8th. Last night was a smaller event. Common and Raheem Devine performed but it was mostly about building buzz and meeting with friends. Check Heineken's Red Star Soul site for event information. more..
