Last night, everyone's favorite actor turned rapper, Joaquin Phoenix was on The Late Show with David Letterman. He was there to promote Two Lovers , his last film. I don't think anyone would be asking questions about Joaquin switching career paths if he picked up a guitar or even plucked a piano, but that wacked out rapping in Vegas video was so bad, everyone seems to be waiting for the punchline. Dave tried to get it out of him, but like in another video I've seen, Joaquin doesn't understand or appreciate questions about his appearance or his decision to leave Hollywood. more..

I mentioned Joaquin Phoenix's decision to leave the movie business, as a side-dig in the "Angelina Jolie Next to Quit Acting" blurb. Enough of memorizing Gladiator lines and conjuring up the ghost of Johnny Cash, Joaquin decided that he wanted to pursue his real passion - music. You hear that and think, ok the guy's got some money in the bank, he has the ability to chase his true passion. That's before you realize his music thing is going to involve rapping.
