According to People magazine, Chris Brown and Rihanna have made up and are currently spending quiet time at one of Diddy’s houses on Star Island. Chris Brown reportedly called Rihanna on her 21st birthday (Feb 20) to wish her the best and tell her how much he cares for and adores her. Speaking about the kiss and make-up, a source told People.. “They care for each other. While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves.”

It’s great for them if it’s true, but is Chris Brown serious about this love and affection he speaks of or is it like any other guy that lays the pimp smack on a woman only to sweet talk them a few days later with ‘sincere’ apologies and babble about how hard his heart beats for her? You know, the woman really cares for dude so she accepts the apology (black eye and all) and they hop back on the merry-go-round until the next time he loses control.

It could be Chris’s crafty way of getting out of those abuse charges. Play nice and once there is no longer a possibility of going to jail he can split up with Rihanna on friendlier, less risky terms. Also, at least on the musical side, his career could be rescued to some degree.

On the flip side it makes Rihanna look incredibly dumb. Chris Brown via rumors has hit her before, but this time she was lumped up a la mode, all over the web. Most people were shocked and felt some kind of sympathy for her. Yet three weeks later she is right back in action with him? All I know is next time there will be far less caring about that fat lip or those sunglasses for no reason. ← Hey, it’s a love thing. :T

Jamie Foxx’s video for “Blame it” debuted this week. The club drink spiller of the moment features some true ballers with the Henny in their cups screaming money aint a thing.. throw it up in the skyyy, hold your drinks up highhhh. We’re talking Ron Howard, Samuel Jackson, Jake Gyllenthal, Forest Whitaker, Quincy Jones, Cedric the Entertainer, Morris Chestnut, Bill Bellamy, Tommy Davidson, Clifton Powell, Tatyana Ali and Clarence Avant. As you read that list it gets a little more like ping-pongers, hah, but Jamie definitely called in some IOU’s or in the case of Richie Cunningham favors are owed.

Earlier this month at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy party, Jamie Foxx told MTV that he was trying to create a Biggie-like experience.. “We went vintage. We wanted to sort of relive the Biggie experience. Remember when Biggie did the ‘One More Chance’ remix video? So, we relived that. But we have the most Oscar-nominated and Oscar winners in one video that you ever seen.”

This past Sunday, Teairra Mari performed at the 2009 Children Uniting Nations Awards in Beverly Hills, California. A foundation created to “protect the children who have no voice, whose fragile lives are being abused and lost by the millions due to uncertainties out of their control.” Yes, I copied that straight from their site. Last week, Teairra chatted it up with Angela Yee on Sirius/XM’s Shade 45 in the Morning. In addition to talking about her new album - set for release this year - Teairra Mari spoke about the cold drop from Roc-A-Fella and her ex-boyfriend/aspiring rapper, who, let’s just say, had the quick jab of Chris Brown. Spoiler alert: she skipped town before the bruising got serious. Sounds like a daytime soap, Rihanna 2.0.

Friday morning I was checking movie listings, looking for the big weekend flik. You know, do I have to pencil in a few hours of popcorn and soda time. Only two this week: Madea Goes to Jail and Fired Up. I’ve only seen two Tyler Perry movies, one play, and wasn’t all that motivated to make it three. Though if we were guessing which movie would be number one for the weekend, Madea would be the obvious choice. Still, talking dollars and cents, who would have guessed it would pull in $41 million for the weekend?

Quick comparison: Fired Up, the former Las Vegas girl Molly Sims’ semi big screen debut, was playing in relatively the same number of theaters and managed just $6 million. We’re talking $20k per screen vs. $3k. Results like that are why, critics be damned, Tyler Perry continues to befuddle Hollywood executives.

Since I didn’t see Madea Goes to Jail, I can’t speak on it. So let’s take a trip to Reelzchannel where they stuck a mic in front of people stepping out of the darkness.

We are a few weeks from shaking off the winter season, that means it’s time for new music to hit the shelves. Chrisette Michele was one of the shining new artists of 07’. In the coming months, she will release her as yet untitled sophomore album. It is completed though. Excited about the project, Chrisette wrote about the recording process on herspace ..

“It seems like every word that I sang was already on the tip of my tongue before I even got to the studio. One song I dreamt, came to the studio the producer had music that already went with it and then my new friend, writer filled in the blanks like only he and I can! It was just so fateful. God is always providing!”
