Barack and Michelle Obama in St. Paul Minnesota

Barack Obama is the Democratic Nominee!

It’s official, Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee!

Last night the expected flood of super-delegates rushed in to push him over the top. In addition, he made history by becoming the first African-American to receive the honor. Acknowledging that it’s a moment to savor quickly and move on, Barack Obama told a crowd of 17,000+ in St. Paul, Minnesota, that now the hard work begins.

It’s general election time.

Amazingly, Hillary Clinton refuses to admit that the primary is over. She can’t seem to speak the words, Barack Obama is our Democratic nominee - presumptive or otherwise. It’s over. She’s proving that she really is a sore loser. In his speech, Barack Obama praised her heavily, “Senator Hillary Clinton has made history in this campaign. Not just because she’s a woman who has done what no woman has done before, but because she is a leader who inspires millions of Americans with her strength, her courage and her commitment to the causes which have brought us here tonight.”

Hillary Clinton held up those millions of voters (18 million by her count) as some kind of yet to be determined bargaining chip.
What does Hillary want?

She won’t say. But a VP spot is what the Hillbots are screaming for.

I said it before, I’ll double up.. Noooooooo!

Hillary Clinton is NOT a second slot person. Her personality and beliefs are too strong for that. She and Barack Obama are close in their beliefs, but Hillary does not agree with him on everything. In particular, her universal health care proposal has major tweaks that would make it difficult for her to shift views and fight for Obama’s plan as his VP.

And what would she do when President Barack Obama is talking to Iran? That’s something she doesn’t agree with at all.

Here’s what I find amazing, last night Barack Obama spoke at 10 PM and at 10 AM this morning he had the energy to speak at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

barack Obama at AIPAC

It was the kind of detailed speech people say he doesn’t deliver (actually, it’s that they don’t listen.) Barack Obama talked heavily about his commitment to Israel’s security, how he plans to broker peace in the region and explained that.. sitting down with Iran thing.

For some reason, Hillary Clinton spoke after him. John McCain spoke at another venue. The lack of energy in both of their speeches was unbearable. Hillary is sad that she lost. And John McCain.. is just who he is. From the start I’ve believed that all John McCain has to do is step in the spotlight.. anyone that decides that he has the best plan and direction for the country, deserves what they get.

Kinda like those second term Bush voters. What were ya’ll thinking?
