Beyonce Talks About Her “Head First” Fall With Lola Ogunnaike

For the first time Beyonce has talked with someone about her stage fall. In an interview with CNN’s Lola Ogunnaike the lane was open for questions about a moment in time that will be referred to and laughed about 10 years from now - and 10 years more.

Beyonce served up the standard vanilla answer at first, but Lola, bless her heart, would not let the subject go. After getting the answer from Beyonce about how she got up, Lola goes back and basically asks the same thing again. Like she’s been transported back in time, pointing and calling people to her computer monitor… “look at this!”

Check the video or the excerpts below

Lola Ogunnaike interviewing Beyonce

I have to ask you about the fall, it’s come up.

“My heel actually got caught in the bottom of my coat, because I had a really long coat and I fell.. head first! .. Hit my chin. I really was bruised up.”

So when you’re falling what are you thinking?

Beyonce's Fall tiny screen grab

“I don’t know it went by so fast, I just kept thinking, ‘You better get up.’ It’s crazy because I went into an immediate headbang [dance] and I don’t know what that was about. I guess I was so shaken I was just like, ‘Go for it. Do it harder.’

And whenever I do something like that I always perform really, really hard because it makes me a little mad at myself. So I just go crazy.

So they got a really good show at the end.”

You said please you all do not put in on YouTube. Did you think that they wouldn’t?

“Oh of course I knew they would. I was being sarcastic because I knew they would put it on YouTube.”

I didn’t think you would be able to hop up like that but you did! How did that happen?

“Adrenaline. It’s like an athlete. You fall and you know you have to get back up. There is no other option.

I’ve fallen before but it was pre-YouTube so it was really amazing that it was such big news, it was on CNN. But I’m gonna fall again and I’m not afraid of that.”

This is a really amazing performer right here. The girl just doesn’t stop and I just wish sometimes people would notice the kind of performer she is. Like a modern day Tina Turner if not better.

The media needs to leave Beyonce alone, and not only Beyonce but other celebrities as well. The media makes such a big deal about her falling but they didn’t make her going to Nigeria to help out the poor as big a deal. That shows what kind of world we live in and thats just not right. Anyway i love Beyonce so much, i luv everything she does (embarassing or not). She truly is the queen of our time and she shouldn’t let anything get in her way. KEEP IT UP BEE!
