The video for Brandy’s new single “Right Here (Departed)” debuted early this week. The song is about supporting the people you love, no matter what. Little X directed the video. Brandy was really excited about the concept he came up with, but it’s a little confusing. Did she pass away and return as a spirit to those people, or is she Goddess Durga?
Nonetheless, the video and song is soothing.
Sticky Note: Those streets look like something out of I Am Legend. Brandy needs to forward this to Mr. Smith as an audition tape for the sequel. ← joke.

Great song. The video was a little sad. I kinda see what you mean now, is she like...predicting her death or something? didn’t understand, or maybe that was a representation of her brother and sister in the vid...I DON’T KNOW!!! Brandy help us out!
The song and video are hot. Brandy came back strong this time around, I am so happy. She is going to take the world by storm, again, Beyonce better watch out because the original B is back.
I kinda like it. I am surprised b/c it has been a long time sing I have liked a “mainstream” artist. She looks alot prettier than I remember her being previously.
O.k. so here’s the deal:
Same style - ‘90s
Same hair - 90’s
Same moves - ‘80’s
Same voice - Good, but whiny now
Overall video - I think it’s about the car accident she got in and killed someone...that was sad. I hope she humbles herself and becomes a better person...not the itchbay she ‘used’ to be.
aweful..shows no growth..but she’ll still sell
ya’ll some haters, i did’nt like her either, but its better than the bullshit thats out now, hell i liked the 90’s. this here for grown folks, bring that shit back.
I like Brandy and she is truly a talented singer, however, I am really not feeling this video, but happy to see that she is still in the industry making music.
Way too much reverb for me. I love true singers from your gut ya know.
The video does look like the I am legend blue screen stage.
Dont get me wrong I like Brandy its just that it sounds like her old stuff and like someone said above .. There is no growth in this song.
Now that’s a classic B-rocka song. Not like Monica and that talk-singing ATL shyt she did with her last album. Nothing sadder when an artist can actually sing making Ciara like ‘music’.
