Chuck Brown Still Making D.C. Go Go

Who is this guy? It’s Chuck Brown the Godfather of Go Go. He’s the big brains behind “Bustin Loose” one of the most popular club records you’ve heard but couldn’t match face to song if there were cash on the table. I know I couldn’t. I was flipping through Swindle magazine and there he was - name splashed across the top of the page.

Chuck Brown is 73 years old. That picture was taken for the article which “brought rush hour traffic on D.C.’s bustling U Street to a complete halt.” He signed a bunch of autographs and a couple of copies of his new CD “We’re About the Business” produced by former Bad Boy producer Chucky Thompson.

Yeah, the old young man is still making music.

“I’m not retired because I’m not tired. I’m still getting hired and I’m still inspired. I have no desire to be retired! And that’s it. As long as I can walk up on that stage, I want to make people happy. I want to make people dance.”
