Idris Elba Wanted Zombie Blood in 28 Weeks Later

It is 2003, seven months (twenty-eight weeks) after the last Infected died of starvation and the U.S. Army, commanded by General Stone (Idris Elba), takes control of the now-lifeless London. The city is quarantined into separate “District” areas (London City itself being no.1 and the rest of the London area undergoing sterilization).
After many weeks of work, the city is declared fit for habitation and the first group of British survivors from the European refugee camps arrives at Heathrow Airport under U.S. guard.

And then.. everything goes wrong.

This is the big Spiderman 3 weekend. Haven’t been to the movies since “I Think I Love My Wife.” Spiderman will bring the necessity for an all summer season access pass - you know, one price, ten movies. Soda refills just aren’t gonna do.

While the webbed wonder is all fine and terrific, I’m even more excited about 28 Weeks Later.

As the passage above states, Idris Elba has joined the cult zombie series.

Judging by the trailer though he’s just Stringer Bell in an Army uniform. Doing a lot of observing, rubbing the chin, and giving orders.

Find an actor that isn’t happy to cash a check. You can’t.

Idris spoke on it during a press tour for The Reaping

“Danny Boyle and Juan Carlos - they made the decision about bringing me in. It was a good part and a very interesting film,” said Elba. “I mean, this particular [sub-]genre has been done before but these guys did it really, really well.”

But Idris Elba signed on expecting to be running through the city blasting zombies into the side of buildings.

What did he get to do?

“In [‘Weeks’] I don’t see anything like what I see in ‘The Reaping’ at all, my character is confined in a bunker - I play a General. He stays there and watches everything from bunkers, so I don’t get to see any zombie work.”

“I was a bit mad about that.”

“I stand by the red telephone like, ‘Kill ‘em all!’”, he laughs.

—————

Literally.. That’s what he says.. “Kill em all”

I hope there’s more to it than that - $10.50 is riding on it.

The clean and fresh trailer is here.. YouTube below.

O.K. I am a stalker. I LOVE Idris Elba. I will be there in an empty theater as long as I can see my future husband. I left Shamar Moore for him so this is SERIOUS! Now really, I saw him in an independent film made in London and I found out that he is from there. It trips me out when he speaks because you expect Stringer Bell. I just LOVE him!

Um…Ladydi, Please remember my restraining order requires you 2 stay 30 feet away from my husband at all times!! Don’t make me call the cops again!! LOL

Along w/his recent films, please see him in HBO’s Sometimes in April.  His range as an actor is deep and versitile.

Ok ladies,
Now God Knows I love me some Idris and was planning to go see him in this flick, but I rented 28 day later.. I believe 28 weeks later is the sequel to this.. but all the blood, gore and fright. I don’t think I can handle it. This first one really freaked me out.. All I want to know about 28 weeks later is does Idris get killed in beginning or end.. I think I’ll skip this. I don’t know if I can handle seeing my boy get jacked up by some rage filled zombies… you know the brother always goes in the horror flicks.. Like Ladydi I put Shemar on the shelf for Idris and I can’t stand to lose Idris right now. 😊
