Jaden Smith Will Not Be The Karate Kid

Will Smith has signed on to be in another movie, Empire. That’s not surprising, Will has movies lined up from now til Christ’s return.

More interestingly, his son Jaden Smith was rumored to be practicing his grasshopper technique for a starring role in a remake of The Karate Kid. Will Smith was going to make his directorial debut and Jackie Chan was playing Mr. Miyagi. Notice everything I’ve said is underlined in the past tense, and director might be producer.

Not to blame but here’s one of the Karate Kid rumor spreaders.

When talking about Will Smith’s new movie deal, Heidi Schaeffer, his publicist shot down the idea of any Karate Kid remake.

“He’s certainly not,” Shaeffer told E! Online.“I don’t know where that came from.”

So the movie is ‘officially’ a rumor, but it’s something that should be considered.

Maybe you don’t put Will Smith behind the camera, but Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith throwing around karate moves - wax on/wax off - sounds like something that needs to happen.
