Jay-Z Blue Magic Official Video

Official Jay-Z “Blue Magic” Video Airs on 106 and Park

Trailers are cute, little promotional tools, but you can kick Jay-Z’s b/w teaser to the archives. The official full-length “Blue Magic” video made its debut on 106 and Park yesterday. It doesn’t follow the same theme as the teaser trailer. There are shades of “Lost Ones”, with the dark streets, and expensive cars gleaming under the bright lights of New York City. At the top of the video Jay-Z is in the shadows rappin’ on a bridge, a stove top’s blazing, oh yeah.. “You already know what the business is.”

He then shows his new life, trotting down the spiral staircase of a high-rise condo to do his thing on the balcony, then in front of a colorful splashed painting by some artist. I got dollars the person is art house famous.

Overall it’s a hot enough to move “Blue Magic” out of the lame lane it was in over that first to third listen.

If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the cam footage of Pharrell in Times Square while he filmed a piece that ends up in the video. All it takes is one person to say, “Isn’t that!?”.. and it’s a mob scene.

good song. no, great song! A classic? definitely close if somewhat debatable. However what is with Jay’s video’s lately, the trailer was better and in keeping. Roc boys is more of the same stupid replay’s of old video’s this time it looks like Change clothes and Excuse me miss..

he has the iggest budget ( he’s signing the check after all ) so what gives.. he needs Hype.
