Paris Hilton’s ‘Unfair’ Jail Sentence: Who Cares?

Paris Hilton spoke for the first time this morning about her 45-day jail sentence for driving with a suspended license - which violated her probation. How many times have celebrities and driving violations been mentioned here in the last two weeks? In any case, Paris Hilton broke her silence to a throng of giddy reporters.

“I told the truth [she didn’t know she couldn’t drive with a suspended license.] I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don’t deserve this.”

Shake in her lawyers adjectives.. “uncalled for,” “inappropriate,” and “ludicrous.”

With a pinch of her mother’s outrage, “This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with this nonsense. It’s a joke.”

And you have a, what else did you expect them to say salad.

The obvious thing would be to ditch the snack and give the girl a dictionary, suspended means. Paris puts the blame on her publicist Elliot Mintz. She said he told her she could drive for work related purposes. Mintz was fired this morning.

Calls have been put in to Governor Schwarzenegger, but apparently with all the family funds and connections, so far the Hiltons have been unable to pull strings to get the sentence reduced for the more typical probation - in her case, extended probation.

A request for an appeal was filed this afternoon, but as of this hour, Paris Hilton has a 6 week vacation at the Century Regional Detention Facility beginning June 5th. If she turns this into a hide-n-seek situation, fails to show up on June 5th, her sentence will be stretched to 90 days.

Whether she serves 10 days or 30, there is no doubt most people outside of her circle could care less.

Check this TMZ clip as they ask a few of the beautiful people what they think.

Funny thing is when Paris Hilton is released she’ll have a huge party and some street cred. Doing hard time - that’s ‘real.’
