President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle - their first dance

President Obama and First Lady Michelle: First Dance.. “At Last”

History was made yesterday. You might have heard about it: a guy named Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America. There was no way to put the moment into words. I was soaking up the sounds and images since Saturday’s Obama Express, but the inauguration ceremony was something I will always remember. Where were you when? ← I got that. So do you. Anyone sitting on the outside of this living history has a foot in the past or is ignoring the future. Last night it was inaugural ball time.. three quick highlights.

The first stop was the Neighborhood ball. It was there that Beyonce sang “At Last” and the First Couple had their first dance. Unfortunately MSNBC cut into it. I channel flipped to no avail. Not one network was carrying the thing. Maybe it’ll pop up somewhere else.

Barack and Michelle Obama: First Dance

*It’s at the end*

The soldiers at the Commander and Chief ball sounded like they were enjoying free cocktails and the teleprompter delay simply added to the fun → (confusion?)

“That is What’s Called.. Old School”

The youth ball was the livest spot. I’m giving you his speech, but stick with it until the end. Barack and Michelle dance again. When they finish Barack grabs the mic and says.. “That is what’s called.. old school!”

That was so beautiful I was moved to tears when the President and 1st Lady came out. And Chris, ABC showed the whole thing straight through no interruptions.

ABC had the rights to it, so the other networks could not really show it.

I gotta look for that full clip on YouTube. Even over there someone said they hadn’t seen it anywhere else. Barack was ‘gettin down’ on the dance floor too. Should have been a live web feed to those parties. It would have taken 10,000 servers to handle the traffic, but if we are handing out unaccounted for billions..

Ms Moni and Steph..

I was dying to update earlier yesterday - pictures and moment to moment commentary. Just started a new j-o-b, that doesn’t give me the same kind of freedom to do my own thing. I’ll figure out a way to keep things fresh..

What’s good SqBiz! I’m so jealous that you got to go! I wish I had the opportunity to go but my school schedule wouldn’t allow me to do it. It’s great to know that you were able to take in the sights and sounds of that beautiful day.

...Hey MsMoni

i could not even begin to explain how united we all can be, i really dont like to use this time of period as a reference but remember how everyone got together when 9/11 happened? well it was one hundred times greater than that. no matter where you turned it was all smiles and tears of joy, unison especially when we all shouted OBAMA OBAMA!!!...i felt like doing the diddy dance right then and there. im telling you, we all can really take over and accomplish so much together and really change the perception that the world has of us

sorry everyone but this really got me on cloud nine, excuse me while i take flight

SqBiz, I think that its such a remarkable thing that happened this past tuesday.  Its just good to know that there are still good people left in this world despite the craziness that happens.  We can all achieve unity if we really want too. It’s just a shame that more people don’t go beyond themselves and be the change they claim the want.  I’m just happy to have been able to watch it on TV! I’m sure this will be a wonderful story to tell your grandchildren some day!
