Gnarls Barkley - smoke in the air

Rewind That (Video): Gnarls Barkley “Run”

Gnarls Barkley debuted the video for “Run” yesterday, if it brings a sense of deja-familiar it should,“The concept is an imaginary early ‘90s public access show called City Vibin’,” is how Gnarls Barkley describe it. That’s certainly the imagery - lookin’ all Graffiti Rock-ish -  but the energy is right in line with Andre 3000’s “Hey Ya!” Put em’ back to back on your Ipod playlist.

Gnarls Barkley go on to address ‘the rumors.’ What rumors?

“Contrary to rumor, MTV and VH1 censors did not reject the video because of liability issues related to strobe effects and seizures. ‘Initially, there were fears the video was going to fail the Harding Test,’ says a spokesperson for the band. ‘But, for the moment, indications lead us to believe the video passed.’

*Testing for a Blair Witch promo-tale.*

I love how when the video stops it feels like ‘now what?’, you can’t follow the energy of the song with anything out right now - The Odd Couple are at it again.

Justin Timberlake? Or am I seeing things? Anyway, love the song. Will definitely be putting on the Ipod when I find it, lol.

What is the Harding test?

3 Chris G. Mon, Mar 03, 2008 - 9:32 pm

It’s a video test for photosensitivity, flickering, intermittent light stimulation and visual patterns that can cause seizures in some people (like 1 in 4000).

Music can trigger it too, In January there was a story in the news about a girl who got seizures listening to Sean Paul.

She got an operation and all’s good.
