Rewind That - Ledisi “Alright”

I’ve been waving the Ledisi flag for a good minute. Last week she had a short blurb in the NY Daily News “Ledisi’s a Lost Treasure”, where we get this quote.

“Talent will prevail, but it helps that you look a little bit cute.”

You know that’s a knock on the pop star crowd. Speaking of pop, making the rounds this morning, on Pop Culture Junkie (Melody, you have to fix that site for Internet Explorer - browser split between IE and Firefox is 80/20. Do the math.) I saw Ledisi has a video for “Alright.”

Ledisi was nominated for two Grammys this year. She didn’t win, but now can truthfully slap “Grammy nominated” on her concert flyers. More than actually having a real chance at getting her hands on one of those golden statues, it was a move by music industry insiders to raise awareness of her talent.

I’m thinking her next album will break her career wide open.
