The Five Spot: MC Lyte + Almost September = “Beautiful”
A while back I commented that MC Lyte looks like she’s been sipping from the Fountain of Youth. She really doesn’t look a day past 89’. Well, she’s making songs in the same manner; this song “Beautiful” is from an upcoming album called Almost September.
That’s the name of a group she’s part of with Jared Lee and Whitey White.
If you’re south of the city, MC Lyte is performing in the Hip-Hop Legends Tour, which stops at Fayetteville, North Carolina on December 21st.
Look for the album in 2008. Check the song, right now.
i like the song. what is the photo supposed to be saying...she’s not smiling in the image in the glass and she’s smiling opposite. probably nothing, but i’m sure you saw that and thought the same.

The song is tyt and it has a real meaning to it. Mc Lyte is lukin gud 4 real.
She really looks good. My two older brothers grew up listening to her and I in turn became a huge MC Lyte fan. I love that she has a new project coming out. We need more of our positive rappers (female and male) to keep this Hip Hop thing going. If you leave it up to some of these knuckle heads, its all going to be about sex, drugs, money and cars. Keep the good work coming, Lyte. You are the only reason I watched the show Half & Half.
Lyte always had a prettiness about her, but she could almost pass for Alicia “Cosby Show” Rashad in that second pic.
