The stock market might be spinning down the toilet, but that doesn’t affect Tyler Perry’s bankroll. With Madea Goes to Jail coming off yet another week at the top of the box office charts, Tyler Perry is planning a duo-celebration this September. For his 40th birthday he’s going to rent/buy a private island. Tyler Perry recently vacationed in the Great Exumas islands in the Bahamas and was hooked by the solitude.
“I’m a loner by nature, so when I’m out there on these islands, I just feel like the only person in the world. Renting an island is the best place for me to work uninterrupted.”
With the purchase Tyler Perry will join an exclusive club of fat pocket celebs that include Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Mel Gibson, and..more..
Hercules, Hercules! Word on the Hollywood vine is there is an open invitation for writers to submit ideas for Nutty Professor 3. If Eddie and the studio heads at Universal and Imagine entertainment are impressed and find the right director.. Eddie will slip on that fat suit for a third, fourth.. fifth time. It’s hard to keep up. Outside of Dreamgirls, all Eddie does anymore is slap on makeup and play multiple characters. No need for co-stars.. it’s Eddie Murphy starring Eddie Murphy, and maybe some talking animals thrown in the mix. Remember Boomerang? Harlem Nights?.. don’t even talk about Trading Places. What happened to that guy?more..
Press time for the Dreamgirls cast, yeah, from now til Christmas we’ll be seeing more and more of the stars of the most hyped movie since Snakes on a Plane. It’s gonna be great, the best you’ve ever seen, fantastic! All movies have those types of headlines, but the’word’ is that this is truly a great movie. Label me buying in, I’m going to one of those advance $25 screenings on Saturday. Figure you stash snacks instead of buying at the counter and you’re about where you’d be on a normal night.
Then I can hit you with the advance word, like tell everything that happens and completely ruin it for everyone. Haha.. Watch this.. check this part.. Yup, I hate that guy.
Recently, Eddie Murphy talked about his character James Early on AP Television News, speaking about the insecurity of being an artist/actor. Murphy said, “I could relate to him [James Early] - the whole idea of him faking his way to the top, like that idea. Because I think every artist feels, you know, in the back of your mind, it’s like - you’re kinda like - they’re believing this?”more..
