Stylish > Jordin Sparks Loves Orange: The Repeat Edition

Jordin Sparks made an appearance at “Energy In The Park”, a concert held in Berlin on Saturday. Now normally it is ok to wear an outfit more than once, as long as it is not to a well publicized and photographed event. Her stylist needs to be fired for allowing her to wear the same dress twice.

Jordin wore this orange dress not just at this concert..

Tamyra Gray Talks Snowstorms, Rent and Broadway

Over the weekend Times Square was transformed into a concert setting for Broadway on Broadway, essentially bringing Broadway performers to the street and tourists of New York. One of those performers was former American Idol contestant Tamyra Gray. She may not have had Jennifer Hudson post-American Idol success, but she was able to snag the part of Mimi in the Broadway play Rent. Tamyra sang “Out Tonight”..

The clip is grainy but you get the idea.

Jordin Sparks America’s Newest Sweetheart

There was a temptation last night to just go ahead and post the headline “Jordin Sparks Wins American Idol.” Once Melinda Doolittle was cut, there was no doubt Jordin would win it in a landslide. She is everything an American Idol should be: 17-years-young, a great smile, bubbly personality, seemingly beautiful on the inside/definitely on the outside, and oh yeah.. she can sing.

It was great to see how happy she was. A smile is one indication, speechlessness is another.
She could barely utter a word when Ryan Seacrest said she’d won. And that last performance was something out of a movie. You could feel the emotion of the moment..

Blake Lewis and Doug E. Fresh: You Gotta Love it

Blake Lewis didn’t win American Idol but having the chance to perform with Doug E. Fresh aka the original human beatbox is not a bad consolation prize. Check Blake’s =very plain= Myspace page, you’ll see has a link to The Temple of Hip-Hop, an organization started by KRS-One that promotes the core culture of hip-hop. Blake isn’t blindly spitting on the mic when he’s remixing the music with his mouth.

The performance with Doug E. Fresh starts off shaky, then the beatbox back-and-forth begins and it’s over. Blake Lewis really went boom for bip with him. Behind those dark shades I think even Doug E Fresh had a raised eyebrow - “This kid is going in.”

Melinda Doolittle’s Elimination Was God’s Plan

Melinda Doolittle came prepared for last night’s elimination round, she wore a t-shirt with the words “Death Cheater” printed across the front. It didn’t work out that way, she became the latest contestant to be eliminated from American Idol.

This season, more than any other, has highlighted that pop and personality is much more important to Idol fans than pipes and obvious talent.

Simon Cowell was pushing Melinda Doolittle early and often, last night he had to say goodbye to his American Idol.. “My commiserations, Melinda, cause you are one heck of a singer.”

American Idol: It’s Sanjaya Malakr’s World

I’ve never been able to sit through an entire American Idol season. The songs and style of singing make it unbearable. For the most part I watch the goofballs during the auditions and try to guess which one of the many faces with actual voices will be among the final 12, if not the winner.

Last night I checked in to see how Diana Ross was going to contribute.. and see new Idol Sensation Sanjaya Malakar.

First of all, if there is any justice Melinda Doolittle will be the winner.
