Akon was thousand of miles away from the U.S. this past week, performing on the tiny Mediterranean island of Malta in the Isle of MTV Festival.

Unfortunately for the blog world he didn’t pull off any Beyonce-esque stair surfing.

The day after the concert he was approached by US Ambassador Molly Bordonaro to speak at the Marsa Open Centre to visit his many fans, giving hands on support for a message he delivered during the concert.

“We are all one people at the end of the day. Africans helped build this side of the world 300 years ago when we were taken but nobody helped build Africa. Now we need to help build that side of the world.”

Akon does his part through the Konfidence Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to charitable projects in Senegal and other parts of Africa.

After a short stint in jail that ultimately inspired his breakout single “Locked Up”, Akon’s music projects have seen nothing but profits, and he wants the next one to be with someone new to his family, fellow ex-convict, Paris Hilton.

“In my mind I was thinking now Paris Hilton is an official convict, I think I’m gonna get with her and put a record out,” said Akon. “I would definitely sign her to my label ‘cos she’s a character. You give her the cutest record, something that’s just for women, an anthem; I think it will be outta here!”

Paris Hilton is currently in the studio recording her 2nd album. Pretty sure she’ll welcome Akon’s ‘Smack That’ touch. In the meantime she’s still.. making herself look foolish.

She recently told US Weekly, “I ordered a Hummer Hybrid.”

To which a spokesperson for Hummer responded, umm..
“Such a car doesn’t exist.”

Yeah.. it’s still in the concept stage. I think she Googled and got all excited.

Nah, she was just lying.
