Barack Obama Supporter Takes on Reporter’s “Change!” Questions

A radio show here in New York has been having fun taking a mic to the streets to prove their point that people don’t know a damn thing about the candidates they vote for.

Putting aside the fact that, when put on the spot, most people can’t defend their position, especially with a blinking record light in their face, the media (TV) doesn’t help when they leave a skid mark on the issues. The last debate leading into Super Tuesday you could flip the channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) and get your favorite sitcom.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are explaining what ‘experience’ and ‘change’ means.

OK. Maybe CNN had exclusive rights to the broadcast. So the news coming out of the debate will cover it, right? Both TV and cable news didn’t talk about the issues at all. It was questions about the lack of fighting and ‘strategic’ cumbaya for the sake of the party.

And they wonder why the public doesn’t vote on issues? They don’t know them.

This is a vote for the President.

At this stage of the primaries, Democrat and Republican debates should get the special report treatment. One hour for a more informed public is a small price to pay when you’re stepping on reruns. Even if people don’t watch, it should be on by default.

This isn’t from the radio show but it shows occasionally a mic gets in front of someone that has paid attention. Check the reporter. He approached this kid like he’s the perfect.. don’t know shit kind of guy..  but dude swats every question back with a mouthful of informed opinion. By the end, he’s found a new friend and the reporter goes on the prowl for someone who’ll better fit the stereotype.

Awesome! ....so nice to see & hear this well spoken and knowledgeable young brother.  I bet the reporter will think twice next time he approaches a brother for political comment.

^Agreed. Obama needs to take this guy on the road with him, because the reporter does make a point. A lot of supporters interviewed who are for Obama only seems to focus on how they feel emotionally about Obama, and they fail to address if they support any of his proposed policies or ideas. Derrick covered both sides. OBAMA 08!

Indeed the dude held it down.  But keep in mind the masses vote base on bullshit.  And this is why the masses don’t vote “directly” for President.  Hillary gets many of the pussy votes, while Obama gets the big d*ck votes.  Why not attack or bombard all supporters with these type of questions?  To be honest, why even attack supporters?  I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before.  People will vote for Obama because he is black.  Indeed this is true.  And many will vote for Hillary because she is white, and others because she is a female… WTF

6 Derek for Vice President, 08! Fri, Feb 15, 2008 - 3:02 pm

Watching this video the first time, I felt inspired! I wanted to read 5 encyclopedia’s! Seek refuge in a Library forever! Derek explained more about Obama’s policies than Obama! LOL!

However:
after watching this video many times over, INCLUDING a second video by Derek (BTW he is from West Africa), which explains how the first “random” situation / interview came about, I have come to MY conclusion:

I think the video is some damn good Obama-ganda!
(propaganda) Viral marketing at its best!

Before y’all throw tomatoes at me, lemme’ esplain’:

A clip of an articulate young black Obama supporter, is placed on video social networking site(s) aimed and geared towards the youth. A clip that breaks the general stereotype of young black males not immersed in politics, and or the presidential candidates.

Furthermore, the clip initially comes off as some “white” (we assume he is) reporter trying to “punk” a political supporter - specifically a black supporter - and the tables are turned. We know how reporters “generally” seem to magically find the dumbest person of color who can never articulate shit, and yet in this particular instance - it appears not to be the case.

Obama-ganda! (propaganda.)

*ducks tomatoes*

I’m NOT saying its a bad thing, or that it is in fact the case. It’s just that after watching Derek’s response - made me see a different perspective…that is all.

Derek for Vice President, 08!
