Colin Powell and Nduka Obaigbena Outside London Royal Albert Hall

Colin Powell + Christina Aguilera Work it Out at Africa Rising

Colin Powell seems unusually happy these days. Maybe it’s because he severed his ties to the Bush administration’s sunken ship a long time ago. I suspect there is also some pride in knowing that history could be made in his lifetime. How else to explain his spontaneous rap and roll act at last night’s Africa Rising festival at London’s Royal Albert Hall?

According to ThisisLondonUk Powell took to the stage and got a hero’s welcome.

“Later Powell rose himself, joining hip-hop group Olu Maintain on stage to dance, holler and underline once and for all why politics and music rarely make a winning combination.”

He did have some wise words about Africa Rising..

“What Africa needs is not just aid but trade. Africa has the same potential as the Asian countries. There is no reason why Africa cannot be recreated. We must invest in the young people of Africa. We must invest in the continent’s future.. We’re all from the same Creator and Africa must not be left behind. It’s Africa’s turn; it’s Africa’s time to shine!”

Wow! All that black pride?

“Many people have said to me you became secretary of state of the USA, is it still necessary to say that you are an African-American or that you are black, and I say, yes, so that we can remind our children It took a lot of people struggling to bring me to this point in history.
I didn’t just drop out of the sky, people came from my continent in chains.”

Then he continued with his boogaloo.. Think he drinks much?

Christina Aguilera was there as well..

Africa is full of people that resemble black people and for that America will never invest in Africa. If America was going to invest in Africa it would have been done a long time ago.
