Jennifer Hudson on the Sex in the City

Flickerazzi: Jennifer Hudson on the Set of Sex and the City

The people behind the Sex and the City movie knew what they were doing when they added Jennifer Hudson to the cast, they’d get that spill over effect at the box office. Translation: black women that might normally breeze right past it at the kiosk (you know, hoping for a future Girlfriends movie instead that brings Jill Marie-Jones back to the party) would instead make Sex and the City a girlfriends night out. That’s more cha-ching at the box-office, for the low risk investment of bringing in a girl who stole the show in her last outing.

Taking the part as Sarah Jessica Parker’s personal assistant seems like a step down for Jennifer Hudson, but she was essentially the sidekick in Dreamgirls and managed to create a new career option for herself. Honestly, if she would have simply dropped an album it would have been in the hands of friends and family members, with milk carton-ish comments the norm when people did see her.. “Isn’t that the girl that got kicked off American Idol?”

Now she’s f*cking with a nickname.. J-Hud on the set.

Hard at work here. We’ll see what she does with the part.

#1…my gurl look hella good in tha movie(no homo)....got that whole outfit workin….GON’ HEAD GURL!

Second, its actually good and smart of Jenny to be takin low-key roles in big name films because she’s able to show how versatile she is….Yea she has the Oscar and can hang with the “BIG DOGS” if she needs to, but she also needs to show that she can be that “side-kick” (i dont know if thats the right word) and still be able to kill that role too..

Aint got nothin but love for you girl in whatever you do! and when you gon drop that album…?!

Don’t mess with my JHud or Boomie…what ever you prefer. This girl looks good in what she’s wearing and is the best, and I’m proud of her!!!

She looks great but she’s wasting her talents.  I know her fans like to think roles like these are good but they aren’t.  They are really dirt roles.  She can do MUCH better in the movie choice department.  She could have taken a “low key” role in a movie of much more substance this this.

She looks scared as hell in those pictures though.  as if to say “what the F am I doing here”.  LOL

MEMOREX, I KINDA AGREE WITH YOU BUT I THINK THAT SHE IS GOING TO BLOSSOM INTO ONE OF THE GREAT ENTERTAINERS OF THIS ERA. SHE IS HOT AND SHE IS VERY, VERY, TALENTED. SHE TOOK OVER THE MOVIE THAT SHE WAS IN WITH BEYONCE.

I think this the right move for Jennifer right now, she need to get her face in many movies as she can, soon the roles would become more meaty, look how long it took for Forest Whitaker to become a serious actor. Jennifer definitely don’t wont to get pigeonhole into only musical movies roles, like John Travolta advice to Jennifer was “its not enough paydays in doing only musical movies”

Also the girl is looking HOT!

J-Hud is amazing and will do well in whatever she’s in. What shocked the hell out of me was her acting; anyone who saw her on IDOL knew her singing was NEVER in dispute. The girl can BLOW!

But for her to take to the screen in an acting debut and BLOW THE MOVIE OUT OF THE WATER while holding her own against people who have been acting for years was amazing. She’ll be fine. Just wish she would get that album in stores already. :(

Bappy Smurfday, Soxbutters!I was actually divring right past the former site of Channel 10 in Nunawading just as Dave was talking about the Jethopper competition on The Early Bird Show. What I remember from when I was about six, was passing by that studio when it was still called Channel 0 with a big, fat zero on the side of the building. Across the road from Wobbie’s World, which is also no more.As a six-year-old, I was only allowed to watch the ABC and SBS, so my Early Bird watching wouldn’t come until a few years later. So, my single-digit years were spent watching Dr Who, The Goodies, Monkey, G-Force, Astroboy, Bananaman, Four Corners and Danger Mouse.I did get to sit inside KITT once, but unfortunately not in California, he was at the Royal Melbourne Show.John Richards   I thought I hallucinated that 3D episode of Blah Blah Blah. Now I can take a small step towards sanity, knowing that it might have actually happened.
