Hillary Clinton speaks at the Democratic National Convention

Hillary Clinton Speaks to Her Supporters: Vote for Barack Obama

Hillary Clinton wasted no time getting to the point of her speech last night: my campaign is over, it’s time to vote for Barack Obama. It was a direct message to her supporters who are threatening to sit out or vote for John McCain.

Two different moves, same result: a wasted vote.

The video tribute shown before Hillary Clinton couldn’t have been done better. She deserves all credit for becoming the first woman to run a viable campaign for president, and the montage made clear the emotion her supporters have for her.

She also delivered the kind of speech that puts pressure on Joe Biden to live up to the VP spot and questions Barack’s decision to choose him.

Hillary Clinton supporters - maybe - at the Democratic National Convention

As much as I believe Hillary was capable of handling the vice-presidency (the top spot too) it wouldn’t have worked. Her personality and Bill’s are too strong to sit on the bench. Best to take the L and move on. That’s something some people are having a hard time with.

After her speech CNN spoke with a Hillary Clinton delegate. Through tears this woman said she’s still not going to vote.

For the first Time.. I’m not Voting!

How do you can you call yourself a proud, life long Democrat and just because your candidate of choice loses, you even think of going across party lines or just won’t vote at all - for the first time in your life?

Take it from Hillary’s speech, she’s going to be alright - campaign debt and all.

What about you?

Indeed I support Barack, but I think its a bit disrespectful to ask Billary supporters to vote for him strictly because of party ties.  If this lady doesn’t want to vote because her candidate didn’t make it I’m cool with that.  In fact, I might look down on the ones that now support Barack strictly because of party ties.  Truly there must be more to it.

danzenie, excellent point but if the dems don’t vote for him just because he’s a dem the republicans will eat that shit up and steal all of those votes. If the world was fair we would all vote for the best candidate but it isn’t. When they made the parties that was designed to split the people and unfortunately until there are no more parties that is the way you have to vote. I wish we could vote for the best candidate but we can’t. We are trapped in this system my friend.
