Hillary Clinton endorsed Barack Obama this afternoon.
It was a move Hillary Clinton was forced to make after her own high-level supporters in Congress and the D.C. political circle questioned the defiant tone of the speech she gave last Tuesday; when Barack Obama crossed the delegate line and locked up the nomination.

The first time she uttered the words.. “Let’s help elect Barack Obama in November!”.. You could see her choke back - like, did I just say that? This is a woman whose dream of becoming president has been cut off by the new guy on the block. People in the audience sensed the I have to do this flavor and lightly booed the Barack Obama push.

Then Hillary Clinton began to light up, she talked about running because she believed she was the best candidate and a woman. Sprinkling it with a vague accusation that she was discriminated against in the primary.
I thought she was going salty again.

As she continued, and talked about breaking the glass ceiling for future female candidates, it was clear that kind of ‘real talk’ was just what she needed for herself.. and to give her supporters comfort.

Then she ran through the accomplishments of Democratic administrations (Bill’s 😊 ). It gave the endorsement weight.

The message was, she won’t be the nominee, but we HAVE to vote for Barack Obama in November. The Republican flip isn’t in anyone’s best interest.

We’ll see how far this support extends. Will she appear at campaign stops? Especially in those ‘blue-collar’ states.
