Sarah Palin meets Alaskan National Guard Troops in Kuwait

Sarah Palin’s Church Video: Vote for her it’s God’s Plan, Man!

Tonight Sarah Palin will speak at the RNC convention; she has emerged as the only reason anyone is paying attention to what’s being said on the elephant side of the room. What to expect from her in tonight’s speech? Not this.

Three months ago Sarah Palin addressed the graduating class of students at her church, the Wassila Assembly of God. In the video she makes some interesting comments about our soldiers in Iraq..
“Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God.” She also mentions an Alaskan oil pipeline that with God’s help she says will come to fruition - and asks the congregation to pray to push it along that path.

Sarah Palin Speaks at Wasilla Church-June 8, 2008

A lot of people are jumping around in their seats about this, but it’s actually a page ripped from George Bush. Iin passing statements to other world leaders he once said.. “God told me to invade Iraq.”

‘I’m driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, “George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.” And I did, and then God would tell me, “George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …” And I did. And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me.”

Plus let’s have some perspective: Sarah Palin is speaking in a church, it’s expected that she would mention God and faith in that manner.

That said, it’s still controversial for those that believe political leaders shouldn’t be mixing their religious beliefs in with the policy stew.

I’m pretty sure the existence of this Sarah Palin church video is yet one more thing John McCain will say he knew about and discovered during the vetting process; even though that would be impossible. The only people who believe he did any of that troublesome vetting are those that have convinced themselves that Sarah Palin having an unwed teenager daughter with a five-month kid in her womb makes for a good backstory for that whole VP thing - after all, they are getting married.

The republicans have always been contrived and manipulative. So it only makes sense that they would use Palin for her shock value before thoroughly screening her. Remember, these are the cunning liars that fooled us and the rest of the world into believing that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. These are the greed driven people who caused the mortgage crisis by allowing the banks and realtors to take advantage of the uninformed middle-class buyer during the growing housing market that eventually broke the economy. These are the people who got Bush re-elected with fear tactics and gay marriage issues. These are the people who ignored Katrina victims, went on with business as usual, and then claimed not be racist. Their VP pick is an extension of their manipulative ways and is indicative of the type of con artistry that we will have to put up with for another 4 years if they are elected.

It’s just sad that Palin herself can’t see through the smoke and mirrors and realize that she hasn’t been chosen because of her intellect and abilities, but because she’s a marketing asset to their sneaky underhanded strategy. She was basically casted to outshine the opponent like a tv show actress would be to gain higher ratings.

Everyone’s got “game”—ESPECIALLY politicians.  It’s necessary to be able to make sweeping and convincing arguments with large numbers of people in order to succeed.  In order to do that, you have to hit people where they feel it most, their hearts and their wallets.

It’s our responsibility as intelligent citizens to see through the smoke and mirrors (on both sides, but more on the Republican) and elect the person who has shown the most consistency in what we care about, our standard of living.

3 to Mister Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 2:04 pm

Palin is the commander and chief of the Alaska national Guard…the #1 rated Guard in 50 states.  She moved to the forefront of politics by putting an end to the “bridge to nowhere” funding and exposing corrupt use of funds.

You’re clearly intelligent.  I beg you to put emotion aside and dig deeper…..

4 to Jah Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 2:08 pm

Obama began his drive to the white house after 143 days as a jr. senator…during which time he voted “present” 134 times…which means he wouldn’t take a position on “anything”.

Given that Obama has no voting record to gauge him by…

And neither has Obama accomplished anything outside of office….in fact, Obama hasn’t done a single damn thing in his entire life….

What qualifications can you site that would shore-up Obama as the logical choice for President? ...oh, besides his color of course….

5 I agree Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 2:10 pm

Biden wanted to send $2B to Iran to apease the arab world while the ruins in NYC were still smoldering.

is he your choice for VP ?

6 Mister Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 2:47 pm

At this point I don’t feel that it is worth my time or any one else’s to dig any deeper. The Republicans have betrayed the trust of the American people one too many for me to award them the courteously of digging deeper. Sure the democrats are no angels either but their dishonesty was limited to moral issues and did not have the major economic and security effects that we are witnessing with the Republicans. Palin’s track record has no significance to me in light of the track record of the often manipulative, out-of touch Republican party as a whole. From Sen. Craig on up to Rudy Giuliani, I feel that the Republicans are selfish, self-serving individuals who are not trust worthy and who will continue to have no problem at all lying to and cheating the average everyday American, like they’ve consistently been doing for the past 8 years.

7 To the Palin Puppets Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 3:43 pm

Palin is just puppet. If she can’t see that she was picked because she was a woman she is just another dumb republican. Her 17 year old daughter is pregnant and the republicans and the media want to say that a lot of American families are going throught this but A lot of American families aren’t running for Vice-President. There are American families that have drug addicts in them are you going to tell me that we want the VP’s husband to be on crack??? We already have the all time worst president in George W. Now we have the all time dumbest pick for VP Both of the all time dumbest things were done by republicans. Coincidence… I think not.

8 to Above Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 8:14 pm
9 Above Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 8:21 pm

You can’t compare a woman like Palin who can’t get her own daughter to keep her 17 year old legs closed to a brilliant man like Barack Obama. There is no VS Barack blows that dumb lady out.

10 Paul Powers Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 11:50 pm

I’m glad to see someone not afraid to speak the truth.. about her life and what she thinks. It’s quite refreshing to see and hear someone that knows what she believes and is not ashamed to speak in any forum without changing her views to not offend the crowd.

11 Above Wed, Sep 03, 2008 - 11:55 pm

The truth is being spoken. McCain preached experience and then picked her just because she is a woman. McCain, at 72, clearly is out of touch with the intelligence of the American people. How stupid does he think we are to pick her just because Barack didn’t pick Hilary.

12 I AGREE Thu, Sep 04, 2008 - 12:15 am

I Agree, if he wanted to pick a woman why didn’t he pick Condelezza Rice? She is clearly smarter and has much more experience than Sarah Palin. The republicans are so racist that they couldn’t even pick the best woman for the job because she is black. Mrs. Rice needs to look at this and be offended. She is a republican so she doesn’t believe that they are racist. Wake up Condi and see what they really think about you.

13 MsMoni Thu, Sep 04, 2008 - 1:18 am

It is amazing how people will twist their words and beliefs to suit their own personal agendas.  Sarah Palin is ill equipped to take on anymore responsibilities in her clearly hectic life.  This isn’t sexism this is truth.  She is kidding herself if she thinks she can be superwoman.  With a family that needs her right now that is nearly impossible.  Either her family will suffer from this or the country will. I don’t know about yall but I’m not willing to endure another 4yrs of the same things because people “identify” with her.
Our public officials have always and SHOULD always be held to a higher standard.  These are the people who are leading us.  Do most families have issues? Yes. Do many women have successful careers and have satisfying home lives? Yes, but those women know their limits, apparently Mrs. Palin doesn’t.
What scares me is that the choice of who the next President is so clear, yet this will be a close election due to the prejudices that plague this country.  It’s sad how far people will go to justify an obvious wrong pick.  They didn’t check into her background and now they want people to stop asking questions.  NEWS FLASH! She’s fair game! It was all fine to criticize Barack for the ideologies of his Pastor, It was fine to question his religion, It was fine to characterize his wife Michelle as unpatriotic, yet Mrs. Palin’s husband was part of a political group that wanted to secede from the United States.  How more un-american can you get?  Hypocrisy is at it’s finest.  I can only hope that people see through this. But then again we live in a country that elected Bush twice…what a shame…we still haven’t learned…

14 Mister Thu, Sep 04, 2008 - 12:53 pm

I will give the republicans credit for knowing just how stupid Americans really are. I knew all along that they would fight tooth and nail for the white house, but I never knew that we’d make it this esy for them.

15 MsMoni again.. Thu, Sep 04, 2008 - 1:51 pm

please consider that Gov. Palin has had twenty months experience as a Governor while Senator Obama although a Senator for three years has only been to his office 141 days.  The rest of the time the taxpayers (you & me) have been paying him his full salary while he tries to become President of the United States.

16 MsMoni brinin up the rear Thu, Sep 04, 2008 - 1:52 pm

..literally.  My ass barely fits through the door.

17 MsMoni Thu, Sep 04, 2008 - 5:23 pm

I’m so very glad you brought up this “executive experience” because our current President has the “executive experience” you speak so highly of as Gov. of Texas, but you see where that got us.  I would like for you to tell me how being Gov. of a state with less than 700,000 people, with less than 2yrs of experience, mayor of a town with less than 8,000 people and a BA in journalism with a minor in Political Science qualifies her for VP?
Obama graduated from Columbia, got his law degree in constitutional law from Harvard, was a Harvard Professor, and president of the Harvard Law Review.  Likewise, Mr. Obama was in the Illinois State Senate for 8yrs prior to being in the US Senate.
Alaska is not only geographically disconnected from the rest of the United States, with our country’s growing diversity, how will she connect with the rest of America?  I highly doubt Alaska has the same problems as Chicago, or any other major metropolitan area.
If you look around the RNC you hardly saw any diversity, yet they want us to believe that they have the country’s best interest at heart.  I’m sorry, but Palin is not ready to be VP and McCain’s lack of judgment will prove to be his demise.
So before you downplay Mr. Obama’s acheivements maybe you should learn from the GOP and vet your candidate before you criticize your opponent.

18 chelly Fri, Sep 05, 2008 - 1:11 am

It’s true the republicans are using Palin because they are so boring and full of the same that they had to try to compete with the excitement and hope people have for Obama.

19 kr1089 Fri, Sep 05, 2008 - 7:19 pm

This race is clearly about color. there is a new code word for uppity black , that word is “exotic”.Barack Obama and his wife has done everything in the so called “protocol” to be qualified to be the first family. The only problem is they are black and white america see that as a threat to their status quo. If they were white they’d be the best thing since slice bread, and if Sarah Palin was black well she wouldn’t be on the ticket. STOP RACISM !!! GO OBAMA/BIDEN in 08.

20 Helen Sat, Sep 06, 2008 - 1:18 am

SP is so dumb she doesn’t know any thing about Community Organizers and so busy looking after the kids and shooting off her mouth she hasn’t read books by Obama or kept up with the news.

21 D.W. Sun, Sep 07, 2008 - 4:38 pm

You would think a political campaign would be about the issues and not about the color of one’s skin. Obama has been drug through the mud but for some reason America thinks MRs. Sarah Palin and her family is not fair game.  Wake up America and let’s be fair for once.  I like Obama because I see diversity and not just a one sided america.  In his dream for america he wants to include everyone.  America when you go in that voting booth think about the last eight years and it will be a no brainer. MR PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!

22 K-Woo Tue, Sep 09, 2008 - 5:03 pm

D.W, You WOULD think the campaign would be about the issues but Americans are SOOOO dumb that McCain actually thinks he could slide this “woman” under their noses and as you see most of the republicans have fell for this. I think it’s the republicans responsibility to point this scam out but they won’t. If I were a republican there is no way that I would stand by and let Palin be nominated. America has the chance to show that we are the number 1 country by not standing by and letting that idiot ticket of McCain/Palin into the whitehouse.

23 2 da idiots on this site Fri, Sep 19, 2008 - 6:33 pm

In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and, North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. And the Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking

24 2 da idiot above Fri, Sep 19, 2008 - 6:48 pm

President Bush only went to war with Iraq because the Iraqi’s attempted to kill his father. He used the American soldiers like a gang leader would use his posse to do his dirty work. Gas prices will be high forever because of that dumb ass. You say that he liberated 2 countries, well if one of them is Iraq I would not call the state that that country is in liberating. What you should have said is that he f**ked up 2 countries Iraq and America. For anyone to try to find any good that “the dumbest president of all time” has done also shows us your IQ. So next time before you decide to post about things that you know nothing about do some research before you call someone an idiot you dumb ass.
