Star Jones To Guest Host For Michael Eric Dyson

Since leaving The View Star Jones hasn’t had an outlet for whatever View girls talk about. Though she has a special project with TV One, not much has changed as far as a regular gig. Next week she will get a chance to speak to ‘da people’ when she takes over the radio host spot for Michael Eric Dyson while he’s on vacation. Mon-Wed, 10 a.m. - 1.p.m is the slot.

The former lawyer says she’s nervous but excited about the job.. “This is the very first time that I am going to be hosting a radio show all on my own, not as a guest,” she says. “And you know the old saying ?_” just because you make a good guest, doesn’t mean you’d make a great host. So this is a really wonderful opportunity for me to just talk to people about things that matter in their lives. For the first time, people will be able to just get to me directly, and let’s just go for it.”

“I was the host who liked to go into the audience, and that’s why this radio show gives me exactly what I miss. ... I still have a lot to say, and I hope that people still wanna hear it.”

Uh.. and how do you hear it?

I checked a list of the radio stations that air Dyson’s show and there are 22 AM stations and two FM’s, one in Georgia, the other in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Not for nothing but I’m guessing you can do just as well hosting it on the internet.

Oh wait, you can do just that if you’re so inclined.

Happy Holidays!

Many of you have written me asking where I’ve been and what I’ve got planned for the future. Believe me when I say that your notes and well wishes are received, read, and very much appreciated! And as I promised earlier this year, you all are the first to know of my new projects.

For me, this is a time of brand new chapters and wonderful beginnings. It is my intention to return to my roots of straight, smart “user-friendly” projects that convey my commitment to family, the community, and the law by providing programming that both entertains and informs. A lot of stuff is on the way in 2007, but first. . . I am very excited to let you know that for three days next week (Monday, Dec. 18 through Wednesday, Dec. 20), I will be hosting a 3-hour radio program for the Radio One broadcasting network.

Think, a “talk show for your radio.”

It’s going to be fun, interesting, informative, and relevant. We’ve got news, information, entertainment, law (of course we do!) special celebrity guests, etc., all wrapped in a slightly different package than you’ve come to expect from traditional radio programs.

We’ll come to you from all over the country - in 18 states - next week. *See below for the list of markets, stations, and times to listen in.

Now I need you to know that I cannot do this without you. I want you to join me by listening and calling in with your questions and thoughts, as well as experiences. I want to hear from each and every one of you.

For those of you who won’t be able to tune in this time, keep checking your INBOX. Like I said, you’ll be of the first to know about my new projects. So stay tuned - literally - and have a very blessed holiday season.

Best Wishes

To Our STAR-

I am so very glad to see that you are back in the public eye. I love you - keep your head up. This chapter in your life will be like no other. Fasten your seat belt, the Lord is “LIFTING YOU HIGHER”!

I agree with your comment the other day with Mr. Dyson about uplifting our black men. So many of them are judged by the mistakes of a few. However, those good men are to be honored and uplifted every opportunity we get.

Take Care and Love You Much!
