The Material Girl Spends $10,000 a Month on Bottled Water!

Last week I was in a supermarket, needing to break $20 I thought, “Why not buy some of that Acai Berry Haagen Daz. That’s $4.99 a pint.” When I got to the checkout there was this woman with her WIC book out trying to decide what was covered with it. You know, like real food: meat, eggs, a couple of apples and oh, “Can I get this green pepper?” She peeled off six worn dollars and took her two bags out the door. But she had to leave some chips or something like that in the cart. Then here I come with one item, $4.99 for ice cream!!
Even the cashier saw the irony in that. Gave me a funny look.

I’m gonna tell you I felt bad. Like I just put gold trim on the toilet seat, pictures of starving babies with bloated bellies and I’m hoping to get home before the cream melts.

Everyone has their own situation, that’s just how it goes, but things like that do make you think about what you spend your money on.

If I thought I was wasting money, how about this Madonna story. She spends $10,000 a month on bottled water.
It’s a ‘special’ Kabbalah water that’s been holified by the Kabbalistic blessings and meditations that are used to create Kabbalah Water <

<

I’m quoting there.

Kaballah water

An ‘in-the-know’ source said, “She makes sure she always has some at hand, and has it regularly shipped to wherever in the world she is staying at the time.”

According to the Kabbalah water folks the blessings they infuse the water with changes the crystalline structures, giving it a positive energy that brings it in balance as water was at the moment of Creation. It carries the blueprint of life. The Kabbalah center says they have cured cancer and Aids with their special brand of.. water.

Wired has an article about the bottled water industry which claims some of this ‘spring water’ is really just purified tap water. As if to say what comes out of the faucet is the exact same stuff. Can’t agree with them there. I drink Poland Spring when I can and definitely taste the difference, old city pipes have to play some part in the equation.

I know I just questioned Scientology and am a believer in positive/negative attractive energy, but how can you tell if your water has the Kabbalah touch?

You can’t. Suddenly $4.99 for ice cream sounds like a good got damn deal.
