Whitney Files For Divorce
Wednesday it was announced that Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are officially separating after 14 years of marriage. Actually what has been reported is that Whitney filed for divorce and is seeking custody of Bobbi Kristina. Not too many details were released about the situation, but Whitney's publicist has confirmed that the divorce is in progress.
The rumors of a divorce have been in the air for a few months. Over those months, Whitney had moved to Los Angeles and was said to be drug free and hanging out with old friends like Cee Cee Winans and Denzel Washington, who were helping her stay on the straight and narrow. During this time, it was rumored that Bobby was shacking up with Karinne "Superhead" Steffans and had pretty much not been there for Whitney while she was trying get her life in order.
Now, it does appear that Whitney is clean and sober. Recent pictures of her hanging out with Clive Davis show that she appears to be in much better health than she has been in, in years. Another thing, it is so good to see that Clive has never given up hope on his protege. Had he been anyone else, she and her crack habit would have been kicked to the curb years ago.
Back to the divorce. Did anyone ever believe this day was coming? Whitney dismissing the King of r&b? I never thought I'd see the day that she would be able to walk away from this loser.
For years, they've been so great at being this big dysfunctional joke and after the Bravo TV series "Being Bobby Brown", it just looked like it worked for them. They are both a mess and they are never drug free at the same time. Anytime Bobby had been in rehab, Whitney was still getting high as a kite and vice versa. People like that can not be together. Hopefully getting Bobby out of her life will be a catalyst to keeping Whitney sober this time. Taking care of Bobbi Kristina should be another.
I wonder if there was a pre-nuptial agreement? That's highly unlikely since Whitney pretty much went into this marriage being a fool in love. I wonder if Bobby will try to get custody of Bobbi-Kristina. That could be his cash cow, because he pretty much has nothing and without an allowance from Whitney where the hell would he be? Rumor has it that Bobbi-Kristina has been on the outs with Whitney for a while and isn't speaking to her, but she and her dad haven't been having any issues. This could get very interesting.

Nas' Birthday Bash
According to MTV.com, rapper Nas had a huge old school hip-hop birthday bash, thrown for him by none other than his wife Kelis. The party was a surprise and held at NYC's Canal Room and the entertainment was headlined by none other than 80's phenoms Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick.
The party was said to be a complete 80's affair with many guests rocking nostalgic 80's gear such as Cazals, fat laces, gold "dookie" ropes, etc.
Others in attendance were given old school hip-hop gear like Adidas, Kangols, and bamboo earrings. The guest list included everyone from Kwame to Puffy and little bit of everyone else in between. There were also performances by old school rappers Bizzy Bee, Monie Love, Just Ice, Dana Dane, Melle Mel, and 80's songstress Mikki Howard.
I have nothing to say about this party other than that I am mad that I was not invited and Nas probably couldn't have received a better gift.

DMX
The other day I was reading the New York Post and there was a quote from a Vibe article where DMX was talking about how much Jay-Z has changed because of Beyonce. The exact quote was: "The flip-flops - he's just not the same. It's Beyoncé. He's a sucker for love. Thugs don't do flip-flops. Yo, no matter how much vacation I'm on - we been to St. Thomas, Bahamas, all the little islands - I don't wear no flip-flops. I'm never that comfortable, not even in my own house."
This is the reason that his career has gone down the tubes. Well, thinking about things like what another man is wearing on his feet and his penchant for the crack rock. DMX has serious issues. If he is not being treated for mental health issues, his loved ones need to get him some help and quick. I am only going to assume than when DMX finds himself on a beach, he wears his Tims. He's just dumb enough to do that. Jay-Z should slap DMX for publicly obsessing over his feet. I don't see how anyone wearing flip flops on a beach can be frowned upon, but then again, I am never in a crack induced stupor.
So, just when I thought I couldn't think any less of DMX than I already do, I flip through a copy of "Sister 2 Sister" magazine and lo and behold, it gets much worse.
Jaime Foster Brown, the publisher of the magazine sat down with DMX and his wife Tashera on two separate occasions and came up with a long, ridiculous ass interview. The interviews both took place in Jaime's Harlem apartment and after reading through most of the interview, I can only say that Jaime Foster Brown is either a saint or an extremely patient person. From what I can tell, she should have had them removed from her apartment 2-3 minutes after they began talking.
The interview was pretty incomprehensible. I had to skip over much of it, because I couldn't understand what X and Tashera were talking about. I must also mention that his wife Tashera, who he calls Boo-Boo, seems to be just as out to lunch as her man. You know what they say...birds of a feather.
I refuse to get into too many details about the article, but the part I found most interesting was when he was asked about a paternity suit filed by a woman in D.C. who has his child. DNA has proven that this is in fact his child. He and his wife both claim that he was raped while he was sleeping by this woman. Allegedly, the woman was in his hotel room for one of the members of X's entourage and she raped him while he was sleeping and got pregnant.
Mind you, the wife was not there when the supposed "rape" took place, but Tashera is adamant that her man is telling the truth.
When questioned about the validity of these rape claims Tashera claims that when she and X encountered his baby's mother together she knew that X had never seen that woman before. She said, "I know him like a book and when she walked up to us, you can tell he never seen her before." This has lead her to believe without a reasonable doubt that her man was raped. I'd love to quote so much more from the article, but most of it doesn't make a bit of sense and it would end up being counter productive.
What I will say is that I don't know if there can be a more chemically imbalanced pair in the world than DMX and Tashera. The frightening part is that these loons are raising children. If you can get your hands on this issue of "Sister 2 Sister", you should. Borrow one, like I did and read this nonsense. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it is entertaining and get to see how truly crazy this man is.
Mary J. Blige
Rumors have it that the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige may be headed for divorce. Rumors claim that while she is on tour, her husband Kendu Isaacs has been keeping company with another woman. Nothing has been confirmed but the divorce rumors began shortly after rumors about Kendu's infidelity surfaced.
I am still convinced that Kendu is gay. I don't care what who says, how many wives and kids he has or anything. When I see him, my gaydar goes haywire.
Also, Mary began her relationship with Kendu when he was married and alleged to have been happily so, until he got with Mary. Kendu left his wife and their young children and ran off with Mary.
Due those circumstances I don't know why Mary expected him to be faithful to her. If there is any drama in this relationship, it looks like its just karma paying Mary a friendly visit.
