The Isley Brothers - Body Kiss
 (Dreamworks Records)
Ronald Isley likes to think of R Kelly as his play son.. you know, like a play cousin. On this CD Robert Isley officially slips on his new moniker, The Pied Piper, writing and producing 11 songs for Big Poppa. It's generally a good listen, due in part to the unparalleled singing talents of Ronald Isley. Things only get uncomfortable when he slips into Mr. Biggs mode.. I've always been indifferent with that pimp daddy character. Because?.. well it feels like a character. Which for entertainment value it understandably is, but at times it's like he really believes he's macking a stable of young honies. Luckily things only get out of control on "I Like" - a song that Ron Isley should have grabbed the pen and edited. When you hear him singing that he likes wilding out in clubs.. he sounds way out the pocket. .. Despite that speed bump, the CD still made it out to the truck. It has a cruising at sunset cool-out mode to it: tracks like "Prize Possession" and "Keep it Flowin" display it in full effect. Lil Kim delivers 8-bars over a creepin, 22-inch rim spinning beat on the title track "Body Kiss" and there's a remix of "What Would You Do" that knocks around lovely with an assist from The Pied Piper in rapping mode. The Industry Says
Rolling Stone - 2 stars .."R. Kelly masterminds the classic soul group's comeback; it's not a good thing charged with writing and producing all but one song on the Isley Brothers' new Body Kiss, embattled soulman R. Kelly phoned it in, giving the Isleys some of his cutting-room-floor material."

The Source - - .."Not content to rest on their laurels or catalog, the Isleys aim to be au courant  in the young man's game.. But things falter when Kelly gets to hip on 'I Like'."

Vibe - 3.5 stars .."At a time when his image is tainted by scandal, it's probably just as well that Kelly found another worthy mouthpiece for his seductive writing. .. It's an alliance, like legends in their own time keeping one another's careers, and creative spirits, alive."

Complex - 3 stars .."A handful of slow rolling pimp tracks and no good cheating girlfriends, balance out the mushy stuff.. If it's good enough for mom and dad, it's good enough for you."
